Counselor in Training Program (CiT)

Calling all high schoolers interested in the arts and working with children!

Open to NLArts camp graduates and all students entering 9th through 12th grade.

The NLArts Counselor in Training program is designed to provide the young members of our community with opportunities to gain skills in leadership, mentoring, and teaching while enjoying all the perks our creative summer art camp offers!

CiT Program Benefits

This program provides real world work experience and training to assist in future job endeavors for teens. CiT’s will receive a letter of recommendation, as well as service hour endorsements, upon successful completion of the summer sessions.

CiT’s will:

  • Learn best practices while assisting with task management and conflict resolution with a paired skilled professional as their mentor and advocate.

  • Increase aptitudes for time management, communication, observation, and positive reinforcement.

  • Cultivate maturity and confidence through leadership and increased responsibility.

CiT Program Responsibilities

  • Attend each full day of camp that they are registered for.

  • Take advantage of all learning opportunities to gain valuable lifelong experience.

  • Lead by example to help younger campers show respect, give gratitude, and act with kindness.

  • Encourage participation and team work by engaging in activities, as well a leading activities when appropriate.
